Hi all,

when the TV-Server records one program and I try to watch LiveTV with two clients I get a lot of stutterings!
What could this be? (same when 3 people are watching liveTV)

(actually I am using the latest SVN, but this problem exists since many versions).

I have some more Details.
It happens as soon as all 3 Tuners are working at the same time. Any idea?

I know that some time ago this worked. So it is some software-problem.

EDIT: It also happens when I am watching 3 programs on 2 tuner.

can you check cpu values, see if tvservices cpu usage is very high, or any other program at that time.

is this high definition? i guess not, but just checking.

I have the same problem, but need further testing. When i use all 3 tuners stuttering is on all livetv streams. CPU load on the server system is about 65% and 90% if 2 clients are watching HD and one is watching SD

You are right!! The CPU-Load is quite high???
But why?? By far I never had this CPU-loads under mythTV!!

    See my attached pictures.

    P.S. no HD

ok, thats "good", i know sounds crazy.

but that means we know its not a hardware issue, in theory. i have had that same problem time ago, and although i did not find a solution, after trying new svns the problem dissappeared, i guess some config was wrong. maybe u can try this.

also, do u have epg grabbing enabled? as a guess, try dissabling it to see if thats the source of the problem.

    let me know....

    no, epg is already disabled.

In my optinion it is the way they handle the data from the capture-devices. There shouldn't be any cpu-usage as long as they don't proceed converting-operations.

    Hi,

ok I have disabled rtsp now. No stutterings anymore but there is still the same CPU-load. When one client is watching SD and another one HD, there is also stuttering without rtsp.

Anyway I don't understand why the CPU-load is so high? Especially the system-load is high? Maybe the drivers (drivers updated: same)?

Avoiding RTSP isn't the best solution at the moment. As soon as the first timeshift-buffer-file is full a horrible stuttering begins. The only way to get a smooth picture again is to stop and start the liveTV.
