Hi,
I have configured my HTPC to use CoreAVC for h.264 playback and can play 1080p MKV files smoothly. However, when I watch something encoded in VC-1 (i believe it is) in a TS container, I get extreme CPU usage ranging from 90-100%. I had to rename the files from .ts to .ts.wmv to get MediaPortal to play them, even though I have the .ts extention added to my list of suported formats. I can see in my filter graph that WMVideo Decoder DMO is used to decode the files, even though I have given MPC Video Decoder highest merits in RadLight. Do you guys have any suggestions? I tried overclocking my 5050e+ from 2600mhz to 3000mhz but that didn't do much.
What is the difference between WMV HD and VC-1? Why is WMVideo Decoder DMO used to decode these files and can it be true, that they take up so much CPU power?
The video plays back relatively smoothly, but the sound stops and comes back again all the time. I can see in ReClock that ReClock's CPU usage drops to 0% and then returns to 5%-10% when the sound comes back. I don't know if this is because there simply isn't enough power to run ReClock at the same time or..
Any suggestions would be appreciated as I don't know what to do now.
Best regards.
