    Summary:
Allow client/server (multiseat) configuration with TV server turned off

    Area:
    TV client plugin

    Description:
It's currently not possible to use clients in a multiseat environment when the server is turned off. With the TV plugin in memory, a client tries to communicate with the TV server on startup and on certain actions (e.g. 'stop'). Without a running TV server, the client behaves unresponsive and produces error messages. See https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/118998/ and https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/42217/ for details.

An option to disable this communication would be a nice feature because MP has a lot of functions that can be used without the TV server (listen to music, watch photos, play games, ...). When the TV server is run on a dedicated machine, there'd be no need to run this machine all the time, saving a lot of power.

There's a configuration entry named wait for tv server in MediaPortal.xml which seems to address this feature; unfortunately it doesn't work. It is disabled in the configuration section, and even with the value no, the tv client plugin tries to open the server database.

I agree that MP and TV Client Plugin could be improvent in this area and TVClient should only require connection to TVServer when the plugin is used.
