TV-Server Version:

Hello there i have a general setup problem on my bigscreen tv.

I have a 16:9 thomson 150cm diagonal.

the tv itself has 4 modes

normal
zoom
zoom + adjust heigth
stretch everything on 16:9

Now so far i send out 4:3 since its all i can do 800x600 in svga,
i set the tv to zoom since like 95% of stuff i watch is in widescreen.
The zoom basically "eats away" the black bars and stretches the pure
video content. this works just fine. now same as with the wii the widescreen
mode in media portal is different. It expects you to stretch all content to 16:9
unfortunately NONE of the modes zoom, normal stretch and so on create a
100% correct apect ratio :(. not even close the best was correct in the middle but
distorted faces left and right... So i had to switch back to bluetwo and just let the tv "eat" the black bars..

I was wondering if there was a theme that looked similar to this
--------------------------------
--------------------------------
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
--------------------------------
--------------------------------

So all the gui elements are within the X area. I have a perfect aspect
ratio but of course the gui elements like the progress bar i cant even
see. If there is no theme like this how do i move the progress bar,
system bar down, the information bar up ??

Thank you very much in advance for taking your time to answer

Kind regards

George

I could set tv out to 1024x768 but the tv itself,
i dont think it can do more than svga res. it runs at 100mhz and im actually
pretty okay with the quality it can do. i use the anti flicker to sharpen the image
a bit and it has a very nice color tone..

What type of input do you have on your TV ? (scart, s-video, vga, yuv, hdmi, ...)

Which one do you use to connect your HTPC?

svideo, but thats really not the problem. The problem is that the aspect ratio settings during playback do not match a correct view when i use the stretch everything to 16:9 mode on the tv, none of them i tried all..
