Dear Forum,

could somebody please give me a hint, how to configure the flv support for OnlineVideo. I have installed the latest (0.9.8) version of OV and everything is working, except FLV-based videos. If I go to "Media Portal Config -> Plugins -> OnlineVideos -> Configuration -> Codecs" I see that the one for the FLV is missing - just empty. The strange thing is, I've installed the ffdshow (beta-latest) and enabled all audio codecs and FLV1/4 support, but still no luck.

What am I missing? Thank you very much for your help in advance -

Denis

Update #1: I've attached some logs, and btw. YouTube is working, but MetaCafe and MyVideo not - missing audio codec error:

Hello Mr. Viggo,

thanks for the hint - it solves the problem with the OnlineVideos configuration - the splitter is now in the codec window, but I still cannot play flv's, still same sound problem - no audio codec:

Code:
2009-09-13 10:52:01.353595 [Info.][MPMain]: DirectShowUtils: Found audio renderer
2009-09-13 10:52:01.916595 [Warn.][MPMain]: VMR9: Pin: 0 not connected: 80040209
2009-09-13 10:52:01.916595 [Warn.][MPMain]: VMR9: Pin: 1 not connected: 80040209
2009-09-13 10:52:01.916595 [Warn.][MPMain]: VMR9: Pin: 2 not connected: 80040209

I've configured ffdshow to support all the sound formats and the Video Codec Configuration in MP is also set to ffdshow (except H.264), but still no luck...

I had the same problem and enabling the FLV1 decoder in ffdshow VFW configuration did the trick.

Step 4. Under the "ffdshow video encoder configuration" window, select the Decoder tab and on the left, click Codecs (as illustrated in picture). Again, as with the previous window, to the right there is a list of video formats and you can change their decoder or disable them. Make sure that FLV1 is set to libavcodec as before, and the same setting for VP6F as before (see picture). When you are done, click Apply and close the window by clicking OK.

Thanks for the reply, BReMFoX -

but I did it exactly like in the manula, setting both the FLV1 and VP6F to "libavcodec", but still I am not able to play .flv files using MP nor the WMP.

Best regards and thanks for the help,
Denis

Wow!

Hi there,

I also experienced problems when playing FLV files (i.e. Das Erste/Lindenstrasse).

I configured FFDShow as described and also needed Gabest Media Splitter. After then it worked :)

in x64 i got this message

"module c:\windows\system32\FLVSplitter.ax was loaded, but call to
DLLRegister Server Failed

Error Code: 0x80070005"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The solution

FLVSplitter.ax can reside anywhere you like (I prefer \Program Files (x86)\FLVSplitter, but \Windows\system32 will do just as well). Right-click the Command Prompt shortcut in your start menu, and select Run as Administrator. Then perform the usual DLL registration process: regsvr32 FLVSplitter.ax.

Not sure if you have a working answer yet or not but this is what works for me and its really easy. Just install playflv and that is it. No need to configure it or mediaportal. PlayFLV

I am running Windows 7 64-bit and tested it with mediaportal 1.1 alpha and 1.1 final release. Both play flv.

But one bug I found in both mediaportal versions that can cause flv or all videos not to play for that matter. If you have ALOT of video files in one folder, you will get errors like its unable to play the video files. Almost like it does not have the codec or splitters loaded. If I make subfolders and put around 100 video files in each, then it plays like normal.

Hope this helps

Install *unlocked* SAF, and you will have no problem to play any local FLV video or Online FLV if you are use Online Videos plugin.
