I just added a second identical TV card.
Added it so I can record/watch 2 channels concurrently.
My provider is CONCAST [sic] Cable TV.
What is the best way to configure it in "MP TV Server Configuration".

I have Card1 scan the cable channels.
How should I configure Card2?

Do I just Map the channels from Card1 to Card2?
Do I need to prioritize Cards?
Both cards a called the same thing in my Device Manager. Should I append a number to the device names so they are easy to prevent confusion.

Would seem the best thing to me. I have that config.

They already have a priority. Since the cards are identical i see no reason why you should change it.

That is up to you. But when would you need to distinquish between them?

Hi moab,

Rik is pretty much right. I have the same scenario - two identical cards in my PC, so I just do a scan on one card, then make sure all the channels are mapped to the second card as well. In terms of the naming of the cards (as in the Windows device name) both my cards are the named the same and I've not come across a situation yet where that's a problem.

The only other thing that I do is to set my recording and timeshift directories to different drives for each card, however I note that you've just got a single RAID 0 array which I'm guessing is where all your recordings will go. If these are quick disks, then you should be fine. I have a couple of disks in my machine which are not the fastest (need to upgrade!), so I balance the I/O across multiple disks - that way if I've got two recordings going I can still watch live TV (timeshift) or playback a previous recording at the same time.

Cheers,
Craig
