    MediaPortal Version: 1.1 RC1
MediaPortal Skin: StreamedMP, Black Glass, XFactor, Maya, Black & White
    Windows Version: XP MCE
    CPU Type: AMD
    HDD:
    Memory:
    Motherboard:
    Video Card: NVidia 9400 GT
    Video Card Driver: Latest
Sound Card: Soundblaster Live! 24 Bit External
MPEG2 Video Codec: Cyberlink Video Decoder (PDVD9)
MPEG2 Audio Codec: ffdshow Audio Decoder
h.264 Video Codec: Core AVC Video Decoder 2.0
    Remote: MCE
TV: Panasonic 42" Plasma (Native res 720p, currently running 1080p as the TV is compatible)
    TV - HTPC Connection: DVI->HDMI

If I reboot my computer, I can't use my MCE remote to start MediaPortal, instead Windows Media Center is launched. I HAVE set the 3rd party checks, both for MediaPortal, and for MediaPortal TV Server to turn of those services AND enable MpTray. But this is only saved until I reboot.

so you are saying that if you disable MCE services by Windows policy ( this is what the 3rd party checks does ) it's not effect on your system after a reboot ?

MCE editions might not want to have a policy to disable MCE :D

Yep, OS itself most likely enables those on reboot. Reduces the amout of "stupid" users causing recordings to fail on MCE when turning of "unneeded" services. I guess we would need to find away to stop that behavior.

On XP MCE editions, pretty certain the only way of disabling the MCE services is manually disabling them.

I will find the relevant post that deals with this, when I get back on my own pc and update this post.
