Hi,

I am about to attempt an install of the latest TVServer SVN onto my newly built Server.
It is running Server 2003 X64 Enterprise Edition (AM2, X64 +4600, 8GB RAM, 500GB HDD RAID 1, NVidia Geforce 6100 Nforce 405 Chipset).

I do not need to install MP as it will only serve clients.

Will the install work?
Can I use the x64 bit versions of the required components

SQL Server 2005 Express Edition X64,
Management Studio X64,
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package X64

Also is the Visual C++ 2005 redistributable package still required to install the latest SVN's for TVServer?

Can someone provide confirmation?

Update, the install has gone fine without any errors, I tried testing on a networked client on the latest TVServer Client SVN and had some problems with the client crashing and freezing on going into MyTV. I have changed codecs on the client, disabled the windows Firewall on the client and removed QOS packet scheduling from the servers LAN properties. The issue seems to be a bit more stable but very jumpy stutter still. Didn't have time to do much testing as its late. Will do some more tomorrow and report back further. :cool:

Does anyoe have any experiences with setting up with the x64 versions of the required components?

    I think MP works on 64bit systems, but it won't give you any benefits and will bring a lot of heartache trying to get tv card drivers working and the like.

    Best to always stick with the platform the majority are on, especially when it comes to open source software.

    I agree about the platform but as I have this new hardware that will be used as a server and always on it is the best place to put the tvserver in my situation. Fortunately the TV card I have has installed with 64 bit drivers with no problems (Hauppauge Nova TD Stick Dual DVB-T). :)

    I'm running MP + TVE3 (both from SVN) on Windows Vista Ultimate x64. It runs but I am having an occasional issue with the audio but I it appears to be a RealTek problem and not am MP problem because the stuttering/slipping also occurs outside MP.

    Other than my minor audio issue, it works fine. I use my MCE keyboard and remote with it too (have to disable MCE in Vista Ultimate). I use a Hauppauge 1800 tuner.
