Hi

I've had a VisionPlus Twinhan 3021 DTT / DVB-T card for a few years now, but its been gathering dust as I didn't have an aerial feed in the room where my PC is. However, as of last week I got that back, so I am busy trying out different PVR solutions to see what works best.

With the native software from Twinhan all works fine (though the software stinks!). I've also used ProgDVB which works fine and GBPVR which also works fine. The only one which doesn't seem to do the business consistently is MediaPortal, which is a shame as I like the interface and configuration options.

The main issue I seem to be having is that when viewing the "My TV" page it inconsistently seems to be able to view channels. Its as if it thinks there is no channel available (or no signal, though it doesn't give me the no signal message). I just get a blank screen. If I choose a different channel *sometimes* it plays that one fine. It seems to mainly affect the 16QAM BBC channels.

Also, watching last night all channels seemed to display sync issues with the video / audio out of synch.

I'm running XP Pro SP2 on an Athlon XP 2100 with 1gb RAM. Drivers for the Twinhan card are the BDA 1.2.3.8 drivers.

Testing signal strength with the Hauppauge BDA test tool show 98% quality on all multiplexes, and as I said above all of the other TV software plays back perfectly without any glitches; just MP that gives me grief.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good approach to debugging this as I'd really like to be able to use MP. If not, GBPVR (well, PVRX2) will be where I'll head off to.

Cheers!

Matt

No-one with any hints / tips that I could follow to either debug this or cure it?

Just to repeat, the tuner works with all other software, but MP seems very flaky with it, sometimes working and sometimes not. Any help gratefully received!

TIA

Matt
