A problem (1 Viewer)

Hi, I am trying to use this skin. However when I start MP for the first time it takes very long to load plugins. I am waiting already about an hour. Computer seems to be doing something...
I have a flash screen and "load plugins", forever ;=) I have upgraded MP to 1.0.2, a skin ver 1.7.0 - does not help. Is it normal?

Of course it's not normal! I have no idea what i could be. It seems a problem not connected to the skin.

Have you tried using a different skin, for example Blue3wide?

This is not a skin related issue.

If you post your logfiles, then someone might be able (and willing) to help you .

more informaion on a preobem: Black Glass and Russian language

Hi, I have spent some time on a weekend to collect more details. It seems to be a skin-related problem, but very specific.

Symptom: MP does not start, initial screen shows "Starting plugins", HDD works, but nothing happens (I waited two hours)

When happens: only with Black Glass skin and Russian language selected in MP. The other skins (Blue Wide, Media Stream) work fine. Black Glass works fine too but with English language selected.

Note: When English language selected - MP starts with Black Glass skin and seems to work OK. However when I use "Videos" plugin and select the view "by Title" - MP hangs and stops responding after a while if a scroll down a list of movies. The list contains, naturally, the movie titles in Russian. It works OK with the other skins (Blue Wide & Media Stream).

System: AMD Athlon 5600+, Dual Core 2.9GHz, 2 GB RAM, Vista Ultimate 32 SP1, MP 1.0.2, Black Glass 1.7.0.

Log files, taken after about 10 min waiting with "Starting Plugins" message, please find attached.

It could be the font that does not support Russian characters.
You can remove the "Sansation" font from your windows font repository and try to start mediaportal and see if the problem still occurs.

Dear Tgx,

I had actually the same idea. I have removed "Sansation" font and edited fonts.xml replacing all "Sansation" to "Arial". Unfortunately this did not help.
Switching off plugins had no effect as well.

Do you experience the same problem if you switch the language to Russian?

You don't need this splugin when using BGS:

thanks for the suggestions. I have disabled all (really all) plugins. No help - see the logs attached.
I also tried to use a previous version of the skin 1.6.0 - same result. Which window ([Info.][MPMain]: GUIWindowManager: Could not find window 0) is it looking for??
It seems that the problem is not related to any plugins... Any suggestions?
BTW: can you re-produce the same problem?

I've set language to Russian and on my system it is working ok. But i've tested it on MP 1.1 and windows 7. Tomorrow i'll try on Vista and Mp 1.02.
I've read your logs and it seems a font problem:
