There is already a sample detector build in. This, together with setting a filesize threshold will most probable detect the sample directories.
It's on the configuration screen -> About -> Advanced settings. There is a sample filter section there.
Hmm, I found this, but my samples are often located in a folder named /!sample/ within the movie folder.
The sample and movie is named the same, would it be possible to make it filter by folder names too?

I am in the process of setting up a legacy media player (Mede8er) which I happened to have laying around into my home cinema setup...
maybe setting loglevel to debug might pinpoint the difference between normal and stuck?
Preferable with as much disabled as possible
