Is there a way to change the Id in the XMLTV config mappings tab? I think this might be why all the channels I have mapped have a "red" indicator next to them. I have attached a screen shot of my XMLTV config (tabs 1 and 2). Let me know if I need to provide more information. I am running RC2 on XP SP2. Thanks.

Hi,

if you want to change the ID, you have to change the name of the channels in the "TV channels" setting. XMLTV just uses these names.

These names have to match the names in your xmltv file in order to do the automatic mapping.

The other way is to map the channels manually, i.e. just select the "good" channel within the "Mappings" tab.

Do not forget to press the "save" button when done.

Thanks for the reply AlfredENeuma, but I'm not completely sure what you mean. I've changed the names of my channels so they match what is on the guide from Zap2It (where I get my tv listings from). For example, when I scanned for channels, the channels found were 2 through 96. And they were named like that accordingly. So I had to manually enter in the name (i.e. 2 TVGN, 3 TBS, etc.). So what I'm asking, does the Id (column to the left of tuning channel) have to match the channel number (i.e. 2 = 2, 3 = 3, etc.)? If so, where can I go to change this? I've looked in "TV Channels" menus and I don't see where the Id can be changed. When I click "Load/Refresh", it seems the Id's are automatically assigned. If I double-click the Id and change it, then try and save it, MP says error saving. Any other thoughts on this?

Hi knight1fox3,

now, it is me who does not exactly understand what you mean.

The ID of the xmltv does not matter at all, you cannot change it and you do not need to change it; what I meant with my last post is the "Channel Name". In the xmltv mapping page it is named Tuning channel.

So, if you edit the channel name it the TV configuration, this will be the "Tuning channel". And if you really edited the TV channel names to match your grabber channels "Guide channel", xmltv should automatically map all these channels.

Are you able to select manually channels on the "mappings page"? If not, I expect there is a problem in your tvguide.xml - file.

To help you to figure this out: Upload your TV-channels ("Export") and your tvguide.xml

Ok, here is where I am at:

I exported my channel mappings (XML format) and made a copy of my tvguide.xml file. I've attached screen shots of both documents (see below). I noticed in the mappings tab of the XMLTV config I am able to select the "Guide Channel". There is only one selection available in the drop-down menu (CSPAN (I.labs.zap2it.com)). Once I have it selected, I save, and then click "Load/Refresh". The red indicator changes to a white indicator which means "Already mapped" (see screenshot). However, this still yields no programming information in the tv guide. After looking at my tvguide.xml file, I noticed that in the "channel" field is a link (I.labs.zap2it.com) rather than a channel. I wonder if this is the reason my mapped channels are not matching up to the channels in my tvguide.xml file. Has the source of my tvlistings changed their format some how?

Also, does it matter in the channel mappings that the "IdChannel" does not match the "IdChannelMap"? I noticed this in the channel mappings XML file I created. Let me know if I need to provide more information. Thanks again in advance for any assistance.
