A way to store movie informations in the movie folder ? (1 Viewer)

Hi,

is there a way to store movies informations directly in the movie folder ? No problem for the picture but for the movies informations ? I want to have the possibility to move a folder from a disk to another without have anything else to do. I want retrieve my disk, put it in another mediaportal mediacenter and have the movie informations directly.

This doesn't entirely answer your question but with moving pictures you can kind of do this.

Basically moving pictures doesn't store the information in the movie folder
But if you run this app it will create folder.jpg (movie poster) backdrop.jpg (movie backdrop) and info.nfo (movie information), it does this by extracting these files from the database/thumbs directory.
Then if you move the folder, when you rescan the movie moving pictures will automatically use the 2x jpg files, it will also read the .nfo file to get an exact movie match, it will still go online to get the movie description from imdb, but won't need to download the images.

However this application is not designed for mediaportal, however moving pictures will automatically use the folder.jpg and backdrop.jpg that it downloads. And you can setup moving pictures to scan the .xml file for a correct movie match.

Thanks, you said that the scan use the .nfo file, good information, I test many movie managers and some of them export to .nfo It's a new start point to search.

Moving pictures only uses the .nfo to get the IMDB ID#, but in the future it will support grabbing all the information locally so you don't have to scan the internet.
