Ability to randomize movies... (1 Viewer)

Hey guys, first post, gotta say media portal is one of the most AMAZING applications ive ever played with!

but there is one thing i would like to be able to do. we use 1 tv in the house as a kind of sleep aid to block out the sounds of the city and all. as of right now we use our cable, however most of the time cable channels suck for sleeping, just no good.

One thing i would LOVE to do as we have a media portal machine in the bedroom as well, is queue up movies to watch through the evening, or even better, set a group of movies and have media portal randomly select movies to play.

Is there any application out there that can do this?


oh and on the same token during parties can i randomize music videos during parties and such??

BTW i use mediaportal 1.1 beta, and the latest streamedMP w/ moving pictures

Hi there and welcome

Current options:
1. Music Videos - You will have to create a video playlist. When you load the playlist, go to the playlist screen and select shuffle.
2. Music Videos - plugin (still Work In Progress) https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mediaportal-plugins-47/my-music-videos-v0-41-a-68337/
3. Movies - with Moving Picures - I do not recall that playlists are available here. Sorry.
4. Movies - You can however also create the same movie directory as a plain MyVideo share in MediaPortal. Create a playlist with your movies. Similar than point 1 then.
