yesterday i was remotely organizing the music/video/tv series database of my htpc. after 3 hrs or something i checked the hard drive temperature, it was at 55°C and stayed there until i shut off the htpc 2-3 hrs later. today, after about 1hr, the hdd temp was at 48°C. the hdd used is a samsung f4 ecogreen 2tb 5400rpm.
the temperature is pretty high, isnt' it?
do i need to worry? the spec sheet of my hdd says the temperature range is 0-60°C but 55 is very near to the upper limit but when i take a look on the htpc cases out there like zotac's zbox i wonder how the temperatures are in there? also, i don't think that my htpc will be used more than 10-15hrs/week, but all my music/videos are on there and i will also use it to backup my stuff.
maybe you want to take a look on your hdd's temperature?
