    Hi,

when tuning to a channel that supplies AC3 audio it will stutter (audio only) every now and then during the first few minutes. This doesnt happen with MPEG audio nor does it occur on recordings so it's not the stream itself.

Any suggestions and ofc more reports to nail this down are more than welcome.
The logs show a fresh start of Server + MP tuning to an AC3 channel with gemx's "AC3 prefered"-addon activated. Stopped playback when no more stuttering occured.

This turned out to be no bug but my slow HDD. "Fix" -> https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/..._minutes_live-t23093.html?p=150125#post150125

    Kind Regards, Muldini

I have a similar stutter problem of Muldini (see my post), but my DVB-S card is a Skystar 2.

The stutter is always a codec problem or others reasons exists ?

    Best regards,
    xavier.

The TT software works like a charm btw, no AC3 stutter at all, sadly i can choose the TT codec in MP but it won't work, no audio at all then. I don't think its codec related tho, can't imagine that WinDVD, PowerDVD, PureVideo, MPA, DScaler etc. all stutter, also they should be causing that on recordings aswell then.

    Kind Regards,
    Muldini

I was able to fix this by decreasing the size of the buffer files. To compensate you can just increase the max. buffer files by the factor you decreased the max. size.
    (TV-Server Setup -> General Settings)
Guess it is related to my old/slow HDD and that's why I think it won't work in your case (SATA HDDs).

Please test it and report back though, please.

    Kind Regards, Muldini

Thank for your reply, but this solution is insufficient for me.

I have changed the max buffer files from 20 to 40 and the max size from 256 to 128, but the stutter is unchanged.

Curiosity: when I watch a 4:3 live TV, with the stand alone myTV plugin, I see correctly; if I run the TVClient, the image is crushed to 16:9. The only visualisations accettable is in "Stretch" mode.

I think that TVClient use a different codec from myTV, and this stutter the video stream same as this new post from InfinityLoop.

    Best regards,
    xavier.

    what is that?

I think that TVClient use a different codec from myTV, .
The TV-Server client plugin is using the codecs configured in MediaPortal to be used for Movies.

and this stutter the video stream same as this new post from InfinityLoop.
    i dont think so.
if you read my post, then you will noticed that this only occurs with mpg recordings/files.

liveTV plays like a charm. if i set the recording format to *.ts the issue is also gone.

Test with all the codec in my PC (PureVideo, MPV, Cyberlink, Nero, DScaler, etc.).

No change, myTV ok, TVClient stutter forever. :(

Last chance: your SkyStar 2 driver is 4.4.0.

I use the 4.4.1 beta WDM (if I use the 4.4.1 beta BDA stutter myTV too).

Where have found your 4.4.0 driver ?

    Best regards,
    xavier.
