Hi All...

Just rebuilt my machine and re-installed TV Server + Client but I can't get connected to the MySQL database. I have tried simple as well as complex passwords but I keep getting "Connection Failed #28000Access denied for user 'root'@'pcname.domain.net' (using password :YES)"

I have removed and re-installed MySQL and TV Server several times using default password as well as manual password including basic and complex but still can't get connected.

what am I missing ?

OK... just went through the very tediuous MySQL manual on resetting the root password. And I have a connection. But WTf went wrong in the install/setup process ?

Perhaps it was just the hostname 'pcname.domain.net'.

In MySQL you can control, from which host/pc a user can connect.

In 'MYSQL Administrator' you can set this - just do a right-click with the
mouse and add the needed host/ip to the user...

OK... pcname.domain.net is a fictitious rendering of my real hostname.

Obviously I changed this as I use a real domain at home and don't really want every man and his dog hitting every host on my network.

Now I have issues trying to get my WebEPG to work :(

Things used to be simpler... before I started drinking homebrew.
