Hi All,
I'm trying to use MediPortal with a brand new MD8818 Aldi PC (specifications above).

The TV card is not in database (as expected).
I tried to follow the (rather terse) instructions in Add_TVCard_to_natively_supported_list, but I got immediately into two problems:

1) I managed to produce a chain for DVB-T, but it looks much simplified when compared with the one in the article (it is composed by: Microsoft DVBT Network Provider -> 713x BDA DVBT Tuner -> 713x BDA Digital Capture -> CyberLink Demux (PDVD7)).

2) I did not manage to make any chain starting with "713x BDA Analog TV Tuner" I always get errors ("These filters cannot agree on a connection. Verify type compatibility of input pin.").

Could some kind soul help me to sort this mess?
This would be a very nice Christmas present ;)

Thanks in Advance

The graph in the example is only for the card(s) in the example.

You need to look through the filter list for filters that are for your card. First install all drivers and programs that came with your card. You will also need a MPEG 2 encoder. If one comes with your card programs, you can use it.

The best thing that youcan do is to identify the tuner chip in your card, and look for an existing entry, with the same tuner, in the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file. Use this as a starting point and change the info/filters/pin numbers to match yours.

Also, do you have a VIA mainboard, or just VIA chipset?

I have 2 VIA mainboards made in 2002 (I think). They were made with bad capacitors and will eventually leak and fail. The offending caps are GSC brand. They can be replaced with good caps.
