It would be fantastic if mediaportal could be made to work with access technology for blind and low vision users. I'm currently looking for a pvr that will work for someone with no vision. Blind people do still listen to tv and mediaportal does have other areas such as the mymusic sections that would be very useful if they could be made to work.
Unfortunately at the moment, applications such as jaws http://www.freedomscientific.com can only seem to see the menubar and not the main interface. I'm wondering if it were possible to add the Microsoft Active Accessibility functionality into the existing controls. I believe this would allow access technology to identify the buttons, listboxes, radiobuttons etc without changing the visual aspects of the software.
I'm not really sure where to start to see if this is even possible, anyone got any ideas. I have the mp sources and studio.net installed but I haven't done any .net programming.
