I'm fairly new to Media Portal (let alone MP development) and was looking for some advice on a plug-in I'd like to create.
I've got an external program I use to record television shows. I'd like MediaPortal to use this program to record instead of its own recording engine.
Ideally this is what I'd like to have.. When a user brings up the Media Portal EPG or checks what recordings are scheduled, it uses my plugin to find out what recordings are currently scheduled and displays what my plugin returns. When the user goes to add a new recording, the request goes to my plugin. How can I achieve this?
Alternatively.. If its not possible I'd have to add in my own screen but I'd rather not do this.
I'm fine with interfacing to my external application.. I'd just like some advice on the Media Portal integration aspect.
