I use PowerScheduler to hibernate the PC. After wake up the analog channels work flawless, but DVB-T ones stutter badly to the point that it's impossible to watch them. Closing Media Portal and starting it again fixes the problem (no need to reboot), so it doesn't look driver related, does it? Maybe some DVB cards need to be reset or something after hibernation (just a blind guess :D ). Enabling or disabling Timeshift after hibernation does not make any difference, neither enabling or disabling TV repeatedly. I've tried all available codecs, and no difference either.

I've posted the issue on the general forum, but only one user replied with the same issue. So I'd like if someone here has a DVB tuner, to hibernate the PC, reactivate it and see if this happens or not.

I've gone from RC4 to yesterday's SVN with he same result.

Can someone with a DVB-T tuner try this? It takes a couple of minutes, just hibernate or suspend your PC with MediaPortal in the home screen, reactivate your PC, watch any DVB channel and post back your results. Thanks :D .

i have only DVB-S available here.
does not occur on my HTPCs.

hopefully a DVB-T user can test it too.

    Hi all,
I confirm the problem, in my case it happens restarting from standby (S3).
I made the test following the same steps described in the first post.
Error Log file show this error:

Yes, in my HTPC this happens either suspending or hibernating. I've tried removing the drivers (with the Hauppauge utility) and installing the new ones again (teh same as you), but no change :( .

BTW, The Hauppauge PVR 350 does not have this problem, only the HVR 900.

Now the question is: it's a problem of the Hauppauge HVR-900 or it's a general problem of DVB-T cards with mediaportal?
Is there anyone else with DVB-T that can test it?

In the main MP forum a user with a different DVB-T card (Cinergy-1200) reported the same problem, but he wasn't having it with ShowShifter. So there seems to be a problem with Media Portal. See this thread.

    I cannot cofirm this.
I have a Nova-T Stick from Hauppauge. There are no problems with this USB Device related to hibernation.
Changing channels causes TV to stutter 3 or 4 seconds before starting to play perfect. In these 3 to 4 seconds sometimes MP gives me the message "no reception". When I then press pause and let the stream play again all problems are gone. But this (my problems) has nothing to do with hibernation/standby or PowerScheduler.

If also I can´t confirm, I´d love a feature for PowerScheduler, that allows users to start a script or batch after waking up (PVR Scheuler has this feature).
For example you could easily restart your PC after waking up and let MP autostart after restart, then all driver problems should be gone, all timeshifting buffers are cleared and so on.

    Update 1 (09-06-2006 20:20):

MediaTobiPortal is right, I made additional test with different software (GBPVR 09709) with the same result, if you hybernate or suspend the PC after watching TV, but without closing the software (TV was closed before suspend) on restart you have a big stutter until you close and reopen the application (no need to restart the PC).

At this point it's very probable that it's a driver problem.

    Update 2 (10-06-2006 03:10):
What I wrote in update 1 is right using GB-PVR option "live preview mode", using timeshifting all works perfectly, you can put the pc in standby without stopping TV and at the restart TV run perfectly.

So I begin to be a little bit confused....

if you resume from hibernate and MyTV begins to stutter, what happens if you:

    1. quit MediaPortal
    2. start MediaPortal
    3. go to MyTV
