After a clean import of all my music files some artists don't show in the "Album Artists" view.

I have looked in the music db using a SqlLite browser and can see that the flac files in question are included correctly in tracks table (including a strAlbumArtist), but the strAlbumArtist is not in the albumartist table. The artist is included in the artists table.

Thus modifying the "Album Artists" view and using artist instead of albumartist remedies the problem.

I have included a log from a clean import.

Is there anything odd about these album artists? Everything seems ok to me on all my albums so need to understand what is odd here.

Do you have the treat folder as album option ticked? Are there multiple album artists in some folders?

The treat folder as album option is checked.

One of the problematic albums is The Social Network Soundtrack by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.

All files for the album are in the same folder. No other files are in the folder except folder.jpg and Thumbs.db.

I have attached a screenshot from SqlLite, showing the tracks table and the album.

could you expand the strArtist field in that screenshot too?

The following SQL seems to identify the problematic tracks:

select distinct trim(substr(substr(strAlbumArtist, 2), 0, length(strAlbumArtist) - 2)) as a from tracks where a not in (select distinct strAlbumArtist from AlbumArtist)

Yes in tracks multi value fields are enclosed with |
So it is only this single album artist that comes back?

I have now tried to just import one of the problematic records from a new test music folder.

When doing so, the record is imported correctly - i.e. with a strAlbumArtist in the albumArtist table

Maybe the problem occurs because of the large number of music files I have (about 10.000 files)???

Could it help if I post the music db???
