I have my music files sorted as Artist\Album\Track.mp3 and have configured MP to treat tracks in an individual folder as an album. Although the albums with various artists show up OK (as one album) in My Music, nothing happens when I select those albums and hit "Play". Doing this with the other albums starts playing the album from track one.

Any other comments to this? No matter how much I enjoy MediaPortal, I would still like to know if this is a bug or a feature?

BR,
Tomas

I've just found out that I have the same problem. I've just made the change from Meedio and am loving MP so far. Anyone got a solution to this yet?

    Hi Ronilse,

Log from starting Mediaportal entering My Music choosing standard view Albums, choosing an album with Various artists and pressing play on the remote.

Thanks for looking into the problem.

    Funky,

i'm sorry, but the complete log does not show any attempt to play anything.
seems that the remote command was not executed at all.
i only see you entering the music screen and after 2 seconds it was left, but no other action is seen. no even an error message.

    regards,

    Helmut

I can assure you I did select an album with various artists, and pressed play on the remote. Is there any other way Ishould do it?

Use the keyboard and press "P".
Please turn off debugging of the External Display before.
this makes reading the log a lot easier. :)

I have the exact same problem as the OP.

I basically moved my iTunes library to another HD for media storage, pointed iTunes to it and it works just fine. I can play every song in the library without a problem.

In media portal though i have a few problems. I can get my Brooks and Dunn music to play just fine, but none of the Alan Jackson. At first I thought that it might be the way it was rip, or the format. I then when into iTunes and did a check adn found that the music is identical in virtually every respect.

Any help figuring this out would be great.
