Hi All
Wondering if someone else has had this problem or is able to help me diagnose this one?

Loaded MediaPortal the other night and went to Tv Series. It loaded the GUI and then the computer just seemed to lock up. No HDD activity no response from any command. So restarted and went back in to MediaPortal, it gave me an error message and never started. Unfortunately i can't remember what the message was, but it said about reinstalling to fix the problem.
Jumped online to search for a solution, noticed a new RC was available so i downloaded and installed this ( i was previously using RC1) MediaPortal would now load, however going back to Tv Series showed me a blank blue screen.
Went into the MP config and looked at MP-TV Series no series were shown in the Details tab, on closer inspection the about tab confirmed it.
tvseries.bmp

Ive tried emptying the database and starting the full import again - same result
I've tried reinstalling MP-TV Series 2.3 (the one i had been using) - Nothing
Uninstalling 2.3 and installing 2.5 - Nothing
Noticed that during the re import of the new database a lot of lines had "commit fail on this command" i hadn't seen this before.
I had a look through the log, noticed the line
Commit failed on this command: <update options set value = '' where property = 'logoConfig'> (SQLiteClient: cmd:sqlite3_finalize err:CORRUPT detailed:database disk image is malformed query:update options set value = '' where property = 'logoConfig').
I've put a link to the log file here so those that can understand it can read.

I guess if something has gone wrong in the database it would make sense if it was being accessed at the time the computer crashed.

System Specs:
Windows Xp 32bit SP3
Intel Core 2 E6550
Nvidia Geforce 7150
MP 1.1.0 RC6

I guess what im asking is it all to late and hard, and just do a fresh install of everthing. Or is there some hope of resurrecting the database if damaged?

Thanks to all who read this and anyone that can help

Cheers
Ryan

Sounds like you have a corrupt database, emptying isn't enough then.

Rename your mp-tvseries.db3 for backup sake, and start fresh. This means you have to redo all your settings (add import path/etc), so if you have any custom regular expressions or string-replacements, then export those first, so you can import them easy. Same goes for 'watched' flag, though it might mean you lost this info (hopefully you are one of those smart people that make backups).

PS: Run a chkdsk scan first as well, cuz you most likely have NTFS journal corruption that lead to this.

    Enjoy.

    Yeah, as i suspected.
I have a back up from when i upgraded to 2.5, so hopefully all my watched flags are all good.
    Thanks for your help!

The installer also makes a backup of your database during install, so you can also restore one of them assuming the backup isn't corrupt as well.
