When ordering a recording it should be possible to select a priority from e.g. five alternatives: lowest, lower, normal, higher, highest. This can be done by another selector on the recording menu, which always starts at priority "normal". From one of the TV Server configurations menus it seem as the data is already in the database, but not yet used.
Then when the scheduler fails to find an available card when starting the recording, a last loop can be added to see if any of the ongoing recordings have lower priority than the one it tries start, and if so it can stop that one.
This would make it easier to have regular recordings like the favorite TV-news recording several times a day, without risking that it prevents recording of something you really want to record
