FFDShow is a directshow filter. I believe the tray utility is a direct link to the property pages. This would get applied in real time. Effects will not be a problem, resizing could be problematic, but I don't know for sure. I haven't used ffdshow in a long time, i found it to be more of a problem than it was worth. Currently, I use the vmr9 resizing algorithms, nvidia decoder (best for mpeg2 by far) and the divx/xvid decoder, and i am very happy with my image quality.

Everybody have its own opinion and its own need ... ;)

I use the vmr9 resizing algorithms, nvidia decoder (best for mpeg2 by far)
After a lot of tests : Pure video output is "bit by bit" the same than DScaller at 99.9% ...
[Edit] exept for interlaced stream : DScaler do nothing ... but FFDShow can do what you want ...

VMR9 is so slow ... Haali's render is so fast and so fluid ... Lanczos in FFDShow is so beautifull ... :D

My choice is done ... yours too ... all is OK ... ;)

In any case, thanks for your help ! :)

seb, try kmplayer, I was a mpc fan like you before ;)
Thanks, I will have a look on it, but MPC for me is only used to diaplay video ... I use Media portal to do all the rest job ...

But thanks, I will look at it ! :)

Well, I can answer #However, the good news is that we also have back buffers, and if your video card can handle it, up to gaussian quad resizing. Enable it in filter control->vmr9. Check both boxes, and select your level of resizing algorithm

How can I check if my video card can handle it?

Is this settings for MP front-end grapich resizing or the video/TV playback resizing?

I don't think MP need resizing since it's already in right resolution (and IMO it doesn't use VMR9 for rendering, but direct3D drawing )... this is only for display video stream ... ;)

But I could be wrong ...
