Hi, So, I've finally gotten mediaportal up and running, and showing it off to my gf. At first she is -rightfully - impressed, as am I. Then she points out that the analog TV - when shown live - looks like crap compared to the regular TV in the same room, showing the same channel. It's all pixelated and looks like a VCD-rip, in particular dark areas. The same goes for recorded material as well (Quality setting "high"). So, here is my question/rant. Is this the price you pay for HTPC? That the quality of analog TV looks worse than when being fed straight to a TV? I can kind of understand this, as the signal has to go though TV-Card -> Graphics Card -> TV, and some sort of coding is happening to the signal along the way. Or have I missed something? Any comments / suggestions appreciated. OS : Windows XP Pro Media portal : 0.2.2.0 TV-card: Hauppage WinTV PVR-150 Graphic card: ASUS N EN7600GS TV: 32 Inch PAL-LCD, fed via VGA and 1:1 Pixel Mapping (well, 1360x768)
