Hi I have been directed to use Media Portal by DNTV Live! for capturing analogue video home videos. The video 8 camera is connected thru to my card (DNTV Dual Hybrid 7164 PCIe) but there appears to be no composite setting on Media Portal to enable viewing and capturing the video. Can anyone help me out with this one?

If I understand what you are trying to do correctly, you would need to manually create a new channel in TV-server for your camera.

To do this, open TV-server configuration, select TV Channels and click Add.

Here you add a channel name, and tuning details. When you are tuning composite or S-video inputs, the frequency, country and other settings don't matter, just make sure to select the right input in the bottom, sound is usually OK to keep at default.

Once you've added the channel, you need to go into the TV Mapping menu and map the channel you just made to the card it is connected to.

That should pretty much do it, after that you should be able to timeshift and record from your camera.

    Hi gretoma

    Welcome to the forum! :)

Snedig is right. Either manually create the channels, or:

    1. Open TV Server config.
    2. Expand the TV Servers node.
    3. Expand your TV Server.
    4. Select the analog tuner that is connected to the camera.
    5. Click "add s-video channels".

That will automatically create the channels for you (slthough it says "s-video", it actually does composite, component, s-video... anything that is an analog input). You might have to use trial and error to figure out which channel is the correct one, but it does save having to create channels manually...

By the way, the dual hybrid is a hybrid tuner. If you intend to use both the DVB-T tuner and the analog tuner then make sure you pair the tuners into hybrid cards. Instructions for doing that are in the wiki --> here <--.
