No problem, but I don't know English very well. I would probably remove the paragraph from the release page about MSQL and move it to the Wiki, for example to the top-level SQL Server wiki page. I can correct the release page if someone gives a clear and sensible text.

Your English seems excellent to me, but here is a suggestion:
    Replace:

    Microsoft SQL Server

    MS SQL

If you plan to use MSSQL server for TV it is necessary to install it yourself before installing Mediaportal with TV Server. Instructions for previous versions are on the wiki, note that new versions were not checked for 100% compatibility.

For Windows XP, Vista - MSSQL 2005 - SQL Server 2005

For Windows 7 or later - MSSQL 2008 - SQL Server 2008 or SQL Server 2008 R2 Express

For Windows 7 or later - MSSQL versions above 2008, there's no official documentation from Mediaportal but you can install and configure it based on the articles above, google or documentation from Microsoft. Compatibility has not been tested.

MediaPortal can automatically install and use MariaDB for its TV Server, but it also supports MS SQL Server. If you plan to use MS SQL server for TV it is necessary to install it yourself before installing MediaPortal with TV Server. Please consult the wiki for further information.
Since MP has graduated from MySQL to MariaDB, the wiki needs to be updated. I will be happy to do that as soon as my wiki editing login is restored. Are the problems described in this thread fixed in 1.37?

I think it's worth moving away from MSSQL and just somehow writing that different versions of SQL server are supported, more details in Wiki.

I'm not sure that's a good idea. Some people will just try and install MP and need to be warned that MS SQL Server requires them to install it themselves before installing MP TV Server. BTW, the defaults in the SQL Server DB connection dialog in the 1.36 installation didn't work for me:
    1. An instance name is required. The MS SQL configuration script I published on the wiki for MS SQL Server 2017 still works and uses an instance name of "SQLEXPRESS". For MS SQL Server, the first field in the connection dialog should therefore be "<computer name>\SQLEXPRESS" not just "<computer name".
    2. The dependency is incorrect. It should be "MSSQL$SQLSERVER", not "SQLBrowser". This problem goes back to MP 1.27.
With these changes the DB connection test succeeds.

Sorry, I was working on my post when you posted and hadn't seen your change. It looks good to me.
BTW, I moved to MS SQL Server years ago because of unreliable client/server connections (even on single-seat installations).
The thread I mentioned above doesn't encourage me to try either MariaDB or MySQL again. ;-)
