Just installed Mediaportal after years of using of Mediacentre. I have a really annoying thing happening that makes viewing videos really distracting. I keep getting the time flash up from the desktop taskbar in the bottom right hand corner. It's only for a fraction of a second. I'm only seeing the time section, no other elements. Any ideas ?

I don't have an answer myself, but I can guarantee you won't get one without posting more system information. You operating system in particular is highly relevant.

My 8-ball tells that you are using Windows Vista / 7 and you have set video renderer to be VMR9.

I'm using Windows XP Media Centre Edition 2005 lastest service pack and updates.

Nvidia Fx 5700 graphics card . Just checked the processor..Intel Celeron D 330J 2.66Ghz Socket 775 FSB533 256kb . Could that be the problem ? Not enough processing power ?

Try to enable settings in configuration (General settings section) Keep MP always on top and Hide taskbar in fullscreen mode.
