Another Newbie TV question (1 Viewer)

Guys, I am ALMOST there (I think) when it comes to using MP full time. I got it installed, TV coming in, etc. My only issue is, when I watch live TV, it is very choppy. If I watch TV in windows media center, it looks just fine, very fluid, etc. I am not sure if my codecs need to be changed, so I played with that setting in the client, but I still am having no luck.

Can someone please help me out?

Hi Yarzy,

which type of TV signal do you try to play ? SD or HDTV ?

Could you give us the codec used for MPEG2 ? and H264 ?

Thanks so much for getting back to me. Well, it looks like I have a new problem before I can even test out my first issue. I decided to uninstall everything and start fresh. I redid the install, and did my scan on my TV tuner card. It found all the channels, however all the channels have the same channel number, so I am getting errors when trying to watch TV.

How can I fix this one?

I was able to get the channels back, so I am back to the first issue.

To answer your question, I have set CBVA DMO for MPEG-2. CoreAVC for h264, ArcSoft for Audio, Monogram for AAC, and default for Audio Renderer. I am pulling over the air signals (digital) from an antenna. Windows Media Center and other TV's look just fine, so the signal is good. The signal meeter also shows a strong signal.

Any ideas?

i think you need to change the codec setting

probably mp choose an other codec or your CBVA DMO is to bad on your system


if you have powerdvd 7 or higher use that mpeg2 codec because it s probably the best 1
