Yes it can be made to work but you're unlikely to like the MP solution.
Basically those cards are designed to pass-through content.
With MP we want a MPEG-2 stream for timeshifting etc so we'll have to use MPEG-2 software encoders.
Using these will chew up your CPU cycles.

See the getting your software card to be supported sticky.

    Thanks for your reply, D-MAN.

So the result is thet this will be used as a software-card (and I would need a good CPU) right?

To bad.... this is a great solution for ppl with STB - even if the card is expensive.

To ppl who wanna buy this card: I tiped www.Vendur.no about this product, and they have ordered it. ETA 3-10 d. Price: High

Yes you'll need a very fast CPU.
You're better off getting a H/W Encoding card.

I suspect that the current trend of analog-output-only set-top-boxes will disappear. People wont accept inferior quality when they have purchased an expensive lcd flatscreen and are paying premium for "digital tv" when the output is through a S-video or SCART connetion. I won accept it at least.

There is a secure digital connection that allows both SD and HD without trigging the paranoia of hollywood, called HDMI.

Though it wont help mediaportal users (no HDMI inputs for PC), it might be possible to turn off the encryption.

Why cant all manufacturers separate delivery and security? If only DRM consisted of a single, standardised card (like CI), then anyone could make plugins for MP and WMC etc, but only those who paid would get a decrypted signal...

Can anyone tell me the step-by-step procedure for bringing up a second channel in pip mode? I can only do it sometimes, after many tries, and it’s not clear what I am doing that makes it work on those occasions when it does. Cannot find guidance on the site. Thanks, N. Again, if anyone knows how to do this, would be much...

yes that is indeed what I did in that ticket. It may already be working without updating those plugins because most of it was not relevant to the plugin itself (test, some leftover unused parts etc).

Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal. Maybe helpful for someone in the future. Thanks for the...

I'm not sure what the issue was, but I decided to try a different way of solving the problem. My server has a 2.5Gbps port and the 10Gbps card I added, so I've connected the HD Homerun directly to the 2.5G port, and its solved the problem, I can now copy large multiple files to the server and not suffer with picture issues. There is...
