I'm in contact with KNC1, since I want to get the driver problem with the new driver version and th KNC one DVB-C fixed.

In my e-mail I asked as well if they would'nt like to get their DVB cards + CI (CineView) module supported under MediaPortal and if they could offer a card + CineView for a developer of MediaPortal.

They answered, that they could offer one with pleasure but so long no developer aked for it.

So if one of the developers has time/wants to add support to the CineView module and get a KNC1 card, he/she should get in contact with KNC 1.

German answer:
Wir können gerne unsere TV Karte dem Mediaportal zur Verfügung stellen, aber bis dato ist kein Entwickler des Mediaportals auf uns zu gekommen.
There are already 2 threads about it:

So there is interest in a support from the user side...

    Bugs,

We asked numerous times with no reply.
    It's interesting they're now supportive.

    I will contact them 'again'.

I'm going to write another e-mail to KNC1 pointing to this thread tomorrow.

An e-mail list would be probably a good idea. Crosspost in the german MP forum would be a good idea as well.
Maybe someone can write an e-mail text that all KNC1 MP users then could use to write to KNC1.

If there is no answer in this matter I will sell all my KNC equipment next week. They've been promising usable BDA drivers and CI support for years but did not deliver anything until today.

I have already regret going for KNC, for one year I have been hoping they would change their minds and release some useful BDA support. In vain.... Now I am simply fed up with this company! Enough is enough.

Actual BDA drivers are a bad joke, techotrend/terratec use almost the same reference design and can deliver stable BDA drivers but KNC simply won't. No excuses here, they are probably not willing to.

It looks like as if they want to force buyers to go for sceneo since this is the only htpc app working fine with their equipment. This is not the kind of politics I want to support, everyone asking me has been warned and did not buy anything from KNC.

For now I am still deciding weather to go for FloppyDTV or Twinhan, any suggestions? How is Technotrend CI support going?

I guess they don't wanna sell DVB cards.

    patos,

All three other cards manufacturers work well.
If you're using DVB-S then I would strongly suggest a DVB-S2 card for the future.

    Hi dman,

I suppose that means there were no answers so far. That's a farewell for KNC from me.

AFAIK there is no MP compatible DVB-S2 CI receiver on the market. Twinhan lists one, but it seems not to have reached Europe yet. Any tips?

TechnoTrend ;-) as for H.264 support thats coming in the new TVServer engine.
Be aware you'll need a very fast CPU for 1080i captures.
I'm suggesting Core 2 Duo E6700 and at least a Nvidia 7600GS to timeshift record and view.
