One thing I like in RC3 that I could never get working in the RC1 svn I was using is that 4:3 broadcasts are correctly shown with black bars on each side (RC1 stretched it to fill the picture which I don't like!)

Unfortunately, if I switch from a channel showing a 4:3 picture back to one showing a 16:9, the picture stays 4:3 so the widescreen image is squashed horizontally into the 4:3 box. I can fix it by changing to BBC HD (presumably because a different codec is then used?) and back to the channel I wanted, and it's then in the correct format.

Also - when a program shown in 4:3 gets to commercial break and the adverts are 16:9, it doesn't adjust here either - the adverts are squashed again into the 4:3 image.

Not sure if logs any use for this - or if others can confirm. If logs required I'll add some.

    ***EDIT***
I have changed the codec in use for TV (non H.264) from MPV to the PDVD7 one and now it seems to work ok based on some testing. So perhaps this is a codec specific issue?
