Hi -

If the name of an artist contains an apostrophe (i.e. Pavlov's Dog, Guns N' Roses) the songs of an album don't show up in album view. After removing the apostrophe from the arist id3 tag all songs of that album are listed correctly. I read about "apostrophe issues" with respect to cover art, however, I couldn't find a hint on this problem.
Is there another solution than removing the apostrophes from the artist name?

Thanks!

nino

is it only the album view or other views as well?
    this should work.

Please post mediaportal.log, we should see a sql error inside.

    Hi Nino

I had the same problem, until I found out that somehow there was a space between apostrophe and next letter,
on the thumbs, but not on the artist. (or opposite don´t remember) Make sure it is eksacly the same.
    Hope it helps you.

    Hi hwahrmann and nip.nyborg

    Thanks for your replies!

Its not a "space problem" - indeed there is an sql exception.

I updated the tag of one song so that Mediaportal would update the database. In Mediaportal.log the following showed up:

2008-01-02 21:07:19.125000 [Info.][MPMain]: SQLiteClient: MusicDatabaseV10.db3 cmd:sqlite3_prepare16:pvm=null err:ERROR detailed:near "s": syntax error query:select * from tracks where strAlbumArtist like '%| Pavlov''s Dog |%' and strAlbum like 'At The Sound Of The Bell' and strAlbumArtist like '%| Pavlov's Dog |%' order by iTrack asc

    2008-01-02 21:07:19.140625 [Info.][MPMain]: MusicDatabase: Database opened

When viewing a plain song listing ("title view"?) the songs are visible.

    Cheers,

    Nino

Please post the complete log, i need to see, where the sql is generated.
please note that i'll be out of town the next days, so a fix will be available on monday, when i'm back.

Edit: Nevermind. found the problem. fix is included n next public build.

    Great!

I installed the latest svn version - it works like a charm now!

I'm impressed by that short "from bug report to bug fix time"

    Thank you very much,

    Cheers,
