Hi,
If I'm not mistaking, my TV-card (PVR-250) always receives the signal in the same resolution - 720x576 and it's the WSS (widescreen signaling) flag carried with the signal that lets the TV know whether it's a 4:3 or 16:9 picture inside that resolution (i.e. whether to crop it or not).
Also, from what I can see, it seems that MP cannot detect the WSS flag.
Is that correct?
(There are some old threads on the similar subject but none with a conclusive answer...)
Is that MP issue or a codec issue?
Are there any workarounds?
To get correct aspect ratio when watching TV, I have to change the zoom mode every time I switch between 4:3 and 16:9 channels. Is this really how all swedish comhem (for example) users are using MP?
Thanks,
MPM
