It's a great shame that it is not possible and my one disappointment in Media Portal. With the great variety of formats these days it is virtually impossible to get everything to play well in Media Portal. Having a choice of players really would be a great boon. I wish I was smart enough to write a plug-in to do this.

Well, if someone implements it, there's no problem with it. That's the beauty of Open Source. It's just that it's not been implemented yet by the MP main devs.

i have quite a big variety of video formats and i can't recall anyone not been able of great playback within MP. If you have the right decoders installed on your pc then vlc or mpc are not really needed.

In my case I would like it to watch HD-DVD's from disc and from the HD.
Only software I can use now is Powerdvd 7 ultra, but I prefer the built in for most everything else.
Although MPC does support chapter in mkv files that the other players do not.

I wish I knew how to program, but instead I am forced to live off the kindness of others. Please be kind ;)

i love how subtitles are implemented in the MP2 videoplayer, this is just perfect. 1080p playback is also very good. But video playback in MP2 is buggy when playing 4k material. Sorry, it's my fault -- I did not notice that you are using MP2. :( MP1 has a separate configuration utility, similar to "TV Server Config". I have tried MP2 only a couple of times, and have never used it seriously. I don't know what MP2 supports with regard to adjusting audio delay, but I do know that all of the adjustments of...

Thank you for pointing out that my analysis may be less than accurate. :p Although the change to TV channel 71 may not also have been applied to the independent radio channels (different MUXes), the logs that I prepared for one of the development team does show a difference between channel 704 ("BBC Radio 4") and channel 731...

Hi there, since I changed TV and HTPC's CPU, I'm wondering if this guide: Guide could be considered still good today, since it's been almost 13 years since then and it's still referring to a resolution of 1080p? I say this because I have a new Panasonic 4K HDR TV, and with that settings, even if I have an old Gygabyte GPU (bought...

Sadly, it seems that development of MP2 has come to a stop. Perhaps it will restart in the future. Meanwhile... MP1 has a "Tuning Details" panel that displays signal strength, signal quality, and picture resolution. It is updated in real time when viewing a channel: However, perhaps you are already aware of this, but prefer MP2...
