Hi,

maybe not a real plugin, but an executable which will make your Asus Remote work with MediaPortal.

It is ment for the HID remote which is silver colored and delivered with the TV/FM 713x card.

This plugin will send the appropriate commands to Media Portal.
Most keys do what you expect them to do.

The "Tab" key will give you the possibility to enter Shifted mode.
In the shifted mode, the back and Home key gets different meaning.

Home = Switch aspect ratio = x
Shift Home = Show Info = F3

back = go back = ESC
shift back = switch fullscreen/preview = x

You can find the executable & ahk file here:
http://www.profiler.nl/MediaPortal/Asus4MediaPortal.zip

If you have any remarks, please shoot (but not with live amo)

Have Fun,
Ben

Hi,
I qould like to test it but it doesn't work. If I run the file, it opens a DOS box with the error message "This program cannot be run in DOS mode.". I'm using Windows Media Center Edition 2005. Maybe it apears because the file is packed with UPX.

Can you help?

Dilbert,

That is strange, because I just copied the file over from W2000 to XP and yet another XP and it all works without problem.

How do you start the application?
I have it on my desktop and double click starts it.

With regards,
Ben

Hi Ben,
mmmh, maybe there is a problem with the exe file on your server. I've tried to download the file with different browsers and download managers (Firefox, IE, wget, ...) but I always get the same file.

I've testet the file on my ASUS S-presso barebone with XP MCE 2005, my notebook with XP Pro SP" and a webserver with Windows Server 2003 SP1 with the same results.

First, I double clicked on the file and it opend a DOS box for a second. Then I've started it from the command line to see the error message.

Can you send me the file by mail? I'll send you my email address as a private message.

Thanks in advance

Hi,
now it works. But it's to late for checking it out today, I think I'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Thanks for your tool.

This plugin is all about the remote.
If you have the silver one it should work.

Greetz,
Ben
