Hi.
I'm trying to get my AIW working with MP, but I'm having trouble actually getting a signal.
When running the initial Wizard, the screen for searching channels does nothing but flash the progress-bar, and then claim It's finished.
When i Run MP, i go to 'Edit' my card i get:
"Unable To Create Graph for this device"

I've tried installing the encoder-package from ATI, I've reinstalled WDM-drivers, MMC. I've also (tried) to follow the "Updated AIW card support".

Any idea what's wrong?

Here's a shot of Graphedit. I don't know if it helps, but I've seen it in another AIW-thread, and i don't have a clue what they were talking about :p

Not that it matters, but I believe you have posted this in the wrong section.
    Should have been posted here
Guess you have seen this thread? Anyway, I believe SciDoctor can help you (his name keeps popping up whenever a AIW-card is mentioned.).

    sure

    hi,

I was using an 9800 pro. There is a way to fix it.

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/aiw_card_support-t1785p9.html?highlight=ati+9800

follow this link and read the posts from kaeri2 and SciDoctor. Dont worry about creating a graph. You need to find and remove the -<!-- and --> from either side of a particular definition entry using notepad. READ the post to find out which one and what to do exactly...it's very simple.

The 9800 card is software based and the problem I had with it was after watching tv for a half hour to an hour my system would lock up when to much resources were used. I wound up buying a cheap hauppauge 150 card which is a hardware encoded card and it runs like butter.

    Good luck.

BTW- you should make a copy of your capture card definitions file b4 you start just in case.

What I don't get is where this definitions-file is located.
So, as far as i can understand, i have to use WDM 6.5, Encoder 6.6, and then just paste all that stuff into an XML-file?

    no.

do not worry about which drivers you have installed. you DO NOT need to have WDM 6.5 exactly...6.5 or later is fine. Likewise Encoder 6.6 or later should be ok.....do not worry about these things at this point. I do believe the file you are looking to modify is called capturecarddefinitions.xml and it should be located in the C:\program files\Team mediaportal\ Mediaportal directory if i'm not mistaken.

Do not paste anything to that file simply Open the file with notepad and search for "ATI All-in-Wonder X series (Analogue)" by going to the menu bar at the top...
edit--> find. Then remove the -<!-- symbols at the beginning of the entry and
the --> symbols at the end of the entry and click save. You will have to look closely to find the symbols i'm talking about. If you do this correctly then you should be able to see an entry for "ATI All-in-Wonder X series (Analogue)" in MP setup under tv \ edit. If you don't see this then you have not done it correctly.

You should at least be able to see an entry for "ATI All-in-Wonder X series (Analogue)" in MP setup under tv \ edit and be able to select it. Then autoscan channels. If you get to this point and it doesn't work then start thinking about using older drivers as a last resort.

You must understand what you are trying to do is wayyyy outdated. The link i sent you is from a couple of versions ago, that is why you are seeing all these references to old drivers and old encoders in SciDoctors post. I belived what you are doing will still work though and i'll tell you why.... I have done this procedure myself months ago and to this day, everytime I install a new version of mediaportal I still get a choice to use my 9800 card or my haupaugge card.

    got it? heh. good.

    good luck

did you get it to work? I decided to try this program cause mmc takes up too many system resources, i think my encoder version is 6.12, the latest one. i keep getting an error trying to create a graph, when i hit edit in the setup>tv>capture cards. Ive gotten rid of the <--! and --> in the capturecard definitions. tried changing that pin from 4 to 3 back to 4. nothing. Should i be trying to go for older encoders?
