Hello, I recently purchased an ATI Digital Cable tuner (using cablecard) and was wondering if anyone knows a way to use this tuner within MediaPortal? I have it running in WMC (Windows 7) great but I would much prefer to use it within MediaPortal.
Any suggestions would be appreceated.

Thank You,
Bill
(this is my first post.....I hope I placed this in the right area)

I am also very interested in this. It seems that the ATI TV Wonder Digital Cable Tuner is the only product on the market that is capable of pulling premium HD channels and if media portal does not support it i am not interested in it.

Hello JustusIV,
Ceton should be coming out with their new product real soon. It would be great if MediaPortal supported this tuner or the ATI that I currently have.
Here is the link: Multi-Stream Tuner Cards by Ceton

Bump! I am waiting on purchasing this ATI Tuner (or the Ceton) until I hear it works on Media Portal.

Bill - does Media Portal just not recognize the card?

HI Bill

Is the card you're trying internal PCI or external USB?

Also - does it recognize the device and not the cablecard
OR
does not see the ati device at all?

This sucks! I would be all over this.

lots of misinformation in in, first piece being ATI... 2nd and not last, that the aforementioned piece of environmental waste is the only unit capable of tuning premium hd....
ditch ati material that is nothing more than environmental waste, and get a real tuner

this advice is for all HTPC software, ati / diamond/ derivatives are known pieces of landfill material, please write your congressmen and contact the bbb if you are in the us as I have done

I am not really sure what this means.

I also want to look up the previous 3 'thanks' that you have received to check if they were well-wishing relatives.

There's a lot of bigger issues than this in this country/world you could be taking on, but thanks for fighting the good fight with that monster, AMD.

....go to at/diamond/w/e you want and check their support pages and faqs for these products the FAQS (pun intended...) PROVE the products are garbage

testing multiple derivatives also suggests that all of the products are landfill NOT fighting AMD, fighting poor products and helping others :)

Again, if you have USB tuner, dont hook it up, do NOT test it:

1) go read the mfgr site
2) interpret the data
3) after interpretation you understand you are holding landfill
4) return NIB
5) for kicks, contact them with testing statistics from over 300 machines designed with images and fresh installs
6) wait 20-50 days, depending upon your CC for reply
7) you won't get one
8) open every single package, rip every single plastic open
9) return every item
10) take a picture
11) on company letterhead, send via signature confirmation all correspondence to the mfgr, including the new picture, don't forget
to mention that the picture reflects open plastics and broken seals on all the boxes, and include a receipt showing your refund
12) mail it in
13) feel better about the whole thing, since they didn't respond and are still screwing over countless others
14) build machines with a regular card
15) play with MP on a computer

Cheers :) :) :)
