Please note this issue using and Ati Card (with Media Portal the problem is annoying because reset card cause huge problem with rendering)
"I have my tv connected to my computer via DVI -> HDMI with extended desktop... Every time I turn off my TV, my computer monitor flashes as the driver resets the video... It is set to NOT auto detect displays...
Also, when I turn my tv on after windows is loaded and logged in, my TV is blank unless I change resolution/rotation/disable and enable it...
It should be able to just keep outputting the signal, no matter what, even when the TV is off...
Is there an option in CCC I'm missing to make this work smoothly?"

AMD Game Forums - Primary screen reset/flashing
I confirm the problem resolve stopping the "ATI Externel Event Utility service".
"I've the same problem since Catalyst 8.6 I guess. Very annoying. Asus Ati HD 3850 connected to a Panasonic PV60 through hdmi dongle. I tried the ATI Externel Event Utility shutdown and work fine Ati shuold fix it because it's a bug imho."
Could be usefully in Media Portal and autoexec feature to launch a script such as vbs to check this service on start.
