I've developed a plugin for ATI Remote Wonder/II/Plus which works with MediaPortal.

You can download it from here: MediaPortalPlugin-1.3.1.rar. Just extract it and place the dll file in your plug-in folder of your remote.

I still don't know if the buttons for Remote Wonder II and Plus works or not. I've got some suspicious feedback but I still don't know. So if you got any of those remotes and the plugin works or not, please tell me.

You can also get the source code for version 1.3 here: MediaPortalPlugin-1.3.src.rar (C/C++). I kinda lost the source code for version 1.3.1 which had some great changes, however you will just have to live without it :/

Enjoy :)

You will probably want to remap the play button to 'P' which is for "Start playing", if you're running default key mappings.
I had this mapped to SPACE which is the same as Play/Pause, and this caused some weird behaviours, such as when you rewind and fastforward it would pause instead of playing, so you'd have to hit play twice.

I've updated the plugin so that it now defaults to it, so anyone downloading this plugin now doesn't have to worry about it.

Anyways hope you enjoy the plugin :)

I have just installed the plugin and it works brilliantly (I especially like the GUI of the remote).

The only problem I have is that when I use the arrow buttons, it moves 2 steps at a time making remote navigation very dificult...

Does anyone know why this is or if there is any resolution???

All help greatly appreciated.

Hmm.. that sounds odd. Do you have a really fast computer or something?
I'm gonna take a look at the plugin and see if I can find something that could cause this. Does this 2 steps thing happen all the time? Or just sometimes, for example when mediaportal loads?

edit.
woaa... seems like I didn't do enough bug-testing myself last time i updated the plugin. I too have this problem :D Only I use an older version myself on my HTPC so I never had this problem hehe.. Anyways I'm gonna fix this within the next hour hopefully.

edit.2
There, I've updated the plugin. Hopefully it will work now :D

Key mapping issue

Tried this out - the GUI looks great and is very intuitive to use.

However, found a problem trying to use the volume control. It appears that the key mapping is worked out using a German keyboard and maps shift+0 (the "=" character) to volume up. On a UK keyboard it should just be mapped to "=", and this cannot be selected in the GUI. Hence volume up doesn't work.

I'm not sure if there is a way of changing the key mapping within MP itself (e.g. to make volume up shift+0 instead) - not looked very far yet.

I would suggest the list of possible characters that can be selected for mapping in the plugin should be extended to cover all standard characters on English keyboards. Can this be added?

Otherwise, brilliant plugin! :D

Ohh, you're probably right, never thought about that :)

I'll look into immediately...

edit:
I've added the '=' character, I hope it works :D

Actually my knowledge of keyboards and their characters are uhm.. bad... So unless you can be specific on which characters are messed up, I don't know what to do :/

Hi there... This plugin is absolutely super! It is just what this remote needed sicne I tried with no success to use the other plugins for this remote and got problems like double entries for everything.

Only problem I have now (from a driver perspective, remote is another story), and maybe someone has encountered it - is that I can no longer use the remote in Windows when I'm not running MP. It seems that only the ATI driver works with plugins now - and not in general mode. Any ideas?

Link isn't working....

Is this still needed? Doesn't the new version support the ATI wonder natively? Or is this just a better driver for it?

Hum.. not sure of what you mean, but does the plugin stop you from using windows with the remote? If so I suggest you unclick(deactivate) the plugin and reboot your machine, and if it still doesn't work. Try reinstalling the drivers.

Na, the link is down atm, because there was a power failure at the host. Dunno when it might come back, hopefully later today. And the file is a plugin for the remote wonder driver application, not mediaportal.
I haven't used mediaportal for a while so I don't know if they've added any new support to the all in wonder remotes.
