I'd use EPG Collector to collect the data and merge it with the mc2xml data too. One XMLTV can be easier to manage.

I like the idea and downloaded EPG Collector. Just don't know how to set it up. I'm in America New Jersey and I selected ATSC tab and then PSIP and Channel 28. I have no idea what channel I should select but 28 did find 32 channels. I'm not sure how to go about this.

Also for some reason mc2xml turns my tvguide.xml from 200mb to 194 bytes. I have it scheduled to update once a day, and this happens around the update. It should be doing "mc2xml -c us -g 10000 -o tvguide.xml" once a day. I have to delete everything in the folder and try again. Why does this happen?

Its been a long time since I played with EPG Collector, I made a post July 2012 with some setup info in the following message. This was for v4.0, looks like the current version is v4.2 don't know what has changed/improved. With v4.0 the ATSC channels are the Physical Channel, not the ATSC Major.Minor channel numbers you see on a TV. You can use a web page like http://www.rabbitears.info/market.php to see channel mappings. http://www.tvfool.com/ is another option.

Don't know why mc2xml causes the problem you see. Assuming you are using windows task scheduler to run once a day, you could try using the "run" option to make sure your task setup works as expected. For debugging you can add the mc2xml "-f" to force mc2xml to run and update, see mc2xml webpage. http://mc2xml.awardspace.info/ You should remove the "-f" once mc2xml is up and running.

I assume you've looked at the MePo setup guide info.

I think I got EPG Collector to work. I figured I'd do another scan with MediaPortal for ATSC channels and write down what channels were detected and working. Then I manually added them with EPG Collector. Had to fine tune it a bit because some channels were listed but no signal. Tomorrow I'll figure out a way to update the EPG daily for that.

Mc2xml is a pain to get working. I don't know why the file turns into blank. I left mc2xml.chl blank, and I told Windows Schedule to just run mc2xml with no extensions. Just mc2xml.exe. It seems to update the same way. I also told it to update every other day instead of daily.

I'd suggest deleting mc2xml.chl if you are not using it. I've never used/created a mc2xml.chl file, no idea what happens if its blank.

Assuming you've already done a MePo channel scan, you can get the physical channel numbers using "Edit Channel". In the picture the Details = 29 5:1, PhysicalChannel=29 and ATSC Major:Minor=5:1. You can also export the channels, in the export.xml file the ChannelNumber="29" field is the PhysicalChannel.
