Go back into mediaportal and look at your guide, if the programs have episode titles after the main title you are in business, go play around with your record naming convention and the option to ignore existing recordings based on episode name. [QUOTE="karl10247, post: 852611, member: 116613"] Hi beargrilled, Im not a regular user of this forum but i spotted your post and i think i can help, or at least clarify some things you are after I have spent much time playing with the EPG in mediaportal, for us in australia there is little options to a good source unfortunately. In summary heres what i've found: XML/webepg in australia = crap and hard to get any solid information at all about the level of detail that is provided in these. I toyed with epgstream for a while, you have to download their seperate software to pull in the xml and then tell mediaportal to import it - difficult and a waste of time Over the air EPG = is very simple to use and provides pretty good show titles/times but NO extended details such as season, episode no, or episode title. I recently let my icetv account expire because i thought i could live with the FTA epg.... unfortunately without extended details you remove a lot of functionality of mediaportal that i want (the feature where it wont record the same program... based on episode name for example) Now i come to icetv. First off i'll just say i dont particularly like paying for something that should be free but we're so behind the times in this country we dont really have a choice! Icetv DOES give episode names/titles for some of the shows covered in there EPG which means you can setup your recording "name" to %title% - %name% so it knows not to record the same episode again and again. The negative sides are of course 1. the cash 2. the fact there is no interactive service on mediaportal (unbelievable) 3. the fact you cant advanced search icetv by country of origin (i personally cant stand all this american crap we have to suffer). Unofortunately icetv is the best option which is why i reluctantly re-newed my membership for $69/yr There is something i found that you should try. If and when you get icetv, Go into the mediaportal configuration->TV->TV Client and there is a drop down box to show episode info, change this to title. Now re-download and import your guide through the XMLtv plugin in the TV config. Go back into mediaportal and look at your guide, if the programs have episode titles after the main title you are in business, go play around with your record naming convention and the option to ignore existing recordings based on episode name. If you dont have the likes of "Futurama (Benders Game)" displayed in your guide, you have an issue and it may be worth reinstalling MP. Oh and one last thing.... i've noticed season number and episode numbers are NOT provided by icetv so you can forget about %TITLE% - SXXEYY Hope this helps, :) p.s. shame on everyone else for leaving you sat there for help!!!!!!
