Please can someone help me: After an uncertain amount of channel switches, audio gets lost. In the error.log is the message "render Audio Output failed:0, trying alternative graph builder"

After turning TV off and on again, audio is okay, until the next some channel switches...

    Thanks in advance!

Recommend FFDShow for Audio filter, it does have "allow multiple instances" in its config\directshow control options.

This may or may not help, as could just be a tuning error, know a lot of work is being done on this atm, so might be worthwhile updating to a new svn.

    I can confirm this problem

I can confirm this problem, I have the exact same issue.

Stopping to watch tv or changing to a HD channel returns the audio. The curious thing is that when I switch from a channel (that is timeshifting) to another channel and the audio is gone, I can rewind, say, 30 seconds to the channel I was watching previously and when the stream automatically switches to the next channel I tuned to, I do have audio!?!
This indicates that the audio somehow is in there...but is not used...

    @Balder,
I use AC3filter and RC2 without an svn, what codec do you use for mpeg2 audio (maybe update your personal info ;) )?

My Audio Decoder is NVIDIA Audio Decoder - I will try ffdshow as soon as possible...

    another confirmation of this problem

A friend of mine confirmed to me he also had this same problem.

He already tested it with both NVidia audio decoder, AC3filter, PowerDVD audio codec (don't know if he tested ffdshow), all with the same result: after some channel changes, the audio is gone.

I've discovered that, once this occurs, ALL audio is lost from my pc to my receiver, so also all system sounds, everything. My receiver gives me the "no data" message. But if I record the stream and start to watch it later (after a restart of MP or watch a HD channel first), the audio is back and so must be in the recorded stream...!? So the audio is not lost, but somehow MP completely cuts off all sound from your pc...
Stopping the tv without audio and the audio returns after a few seconds...

I've also tested with and without the "Prefer AC3 audio" option in MP, but without results. :( Since more people experience the same problem, I guess it's a genuine bug... :(

    kkendall: post your logs

That's not possible since I'm on my work.
If balder doesn't post his logs in an official bugreport, I'll do it, including my logs, when I can find the time.

If you want to take a look at logs for this problem, look at the fp.

    Hi all!

I now tested some time with ffdshow...so far I could not reproduce the error. Okay, now I have an issue when switching back from an HD channel to an SD (video gets lost), but that's not critical.

And what do you mean with "official bugreport"? I thought this here is one :) I must admit that I am not the most experienced forum user...:sorry:
