Hello
I have tried searching for this, but I have not found an exact solution.
Here goes:
I am trying to set up MediaPortal to use the Audioscrobbler plugin to download artist images and album art. My MP3 collection only have a few albums where the folder.jpg file is there. For the rest of the albums there are no album art.
On disk, my collection is sorted like this:
\Data\Music\Artist\Album\[mp3-files]
I was under the impression that the Audioscrobbler plugin would download artist and album art and place them in folder.jpg files. However, this does not seem to be correct. What I have seen, looks more like Audioscrobbler is embedding the art into the mp3-files. I am not that keen on that solution, because I am afraid of file corruption occurring at some point. But also, I don't get any artist or cover art this way.
I was hoping that Audioscrobbler could help me with that, but maybe I am wrong.
So I was expecting this result:
...\Dire Straits --> folder.jpg with image of Dire Straits
...\Dire Straits\Brothers in Arms --> folder.jpg with cover of the album (the guitar)
...\Dire Straits\Private Investigations --> folder-jpg with cover of the album
What I get with Audioscrobbler is apparently album art embedded in each track - which I would rather avoid
Is it at all possible to get Audioscrobbler to place a folder.jpg file in the correct folder? Or should I be looking at another utility for that job? If so, could anybody please recommend a utility to use?
Any help is appreciated, thank you.
Regards,
Simon
