    Hi all..
I was wondering if it were possible to implement a feature to have my MP server shutdown at a certain time if no shows are scheduled for recording during a certain period of time ?

For example, if no shows are due to record between 9:30pm and 6:00 am, i would like MP to auto shutdown.
I will then set my BIOS to boot my server again at 6:15 am.

However, if there is a time when i have shows to record AFTER 9:30 pm, i would like this " plugin " to check every 30 minutes or so until all shows have been recorded and then shutdown.

Is all this at all possible ?? If not yet possible, it would make for a great plugin... problem is that i have no idea when it comes to making my own plugin... hint hint.. lol

    TIA :)

I tell my HTPC to shutdown overnight through task scheduler. It would be nice to have it only shutdown if there are no scheduled recordings coming up, so I might make a plugin to do this... not sure if it's already supported in the powerscheduler though ...

    Cheers,

    Thanx for the reply Aaron...
Powerscheduler isn't up to the task because it doesn't allow you to choose " Shutdown " .

Anyway, if you can come up with a solution it would be great !! :)

What is needed is a plugin that will shutdown the server at a particular time so long as no recordings scheduled for a pre-determined amount of time... say between 9pm and 6 am. At that point the server would shutdown and wake up via bios in the morning.
If there are scheduled recordings, the plugin would check every half-hour or so until all recordings have finished and then shutdown.

    cheers :)

    Hi Ray...
    thanks for the heads up.

I did what you said and installed PVRScheduler on my TVE3 server.
When i go into TVE3 config, i can see the PVRScheduler plugin, but when i select it, all i get is a blank screen... nothing to configure.
On top of that, my server is causing me grief.. TV no longer works..
I have posted a message on the PVRS forum, but no answer as yet.

I am using PVRScheduler on a server which only has TVE3 installed on it. Only my clients have MP installed on them.

    cheers

Oh well... PVR scheduler is not for me.. way too over the top for what i am trying to achieve.
I am really hoping that someone could perhaps make a simple plugin for me.. :-(

    one can only hope...
