I think you will be happy with 1.2.0Beta FFDShow Engine is integrate and you can choose it in menu and working with remote like it works with MPC Engine, and like Hoborg said, you can have very high quality sub.

Hoborg is a guy and author from SAF

But to use FFDShow inside Mediaportal, it's needed 1.2.0Beta (will go out soon) actually latest version is 1.2.0Alpha.
