AverMedia AverTv PVR 150 plus support (1 Viewer)

hello all
I suspect that my brand new card has died but here is the situation.

Win sees the capture card and says its working fine. MediaPortal does not see it.

When I first installed the card, MediaPortal displayed MyRadio and MyTV, now it doesn't. I have reseated the card, moved it to a different slot, and taken it completely out and rebooted.

Some more things to try before before getting a replacement would be appreciated.

Synopsis::

Win says it sees the capture card and it is working properly. MediaPortal does not see the card at all.

When I first installed the software both MyRadio and MyTV appeared in the options, now neither one does.

Other functions such as weather and play DVD seem to be working fine.

Thanks DMAN for your post. I am assuming you want a graphedit of my card. I will send it along as soon as I can. Please be aware that I haven't the faintest notion what all this means. I guess I will be learning as a I go.

reinstalled software, copied new capturecarddefinitions and by golly I have TV.

works as advertised, but TV is in Black and white. takes me back to when I was a kid. I am sure I have some setting wrong but which one?

edit the CVBS#1 channel you're trying to watch and ensure it's set to NTSC.

boy, do i feel dumb, you wouldn't know i was a programmer for 30 years. sigh.

the channel i am watching is defined as external, received by settop box, SVHS.

the places i have found to look show no reference to NTSC.

tried ntsc m, ntsc mj and ntsc 433, got b/w, b/w, and blank screen

just a note, the country kept going back to anguilla and i had to reboot between each change for them to take.

just to see if its the card, i installed beyond TV 4.4 trial edition. the install ran nicely, picked up the card, etc. but tv was B/W. this tells me that either this card is not right or the driver is not right. at least two separate groups of developers have the same result. is avermedia the culprit or just the card?

time for travismeyer to send this back and get something that works. all i want to do is watch tv on the pc, maybe record a movie, watch my dvds. nothing fancy. any suggestions?

Sounds like the card maybe a PAL version unless you've only tried the SVHS connection and therefore maybe the source is not sending colour...

If you give me remote access to your PC I can look at the cards filters and let you know.
