I am the owner of a Avermedia card, and I found the remote is not suported for any third part application (Girder, HIP, Evengohost, Mediaportal). So, I am programing to resolve this for Mediaportal.

Compiled with a recent svn version. Tested with a 2627 installation.

Supports the Aver Remote RM-HV and maybe some recent remotes (averTv 6.3 or AverMedia 1.7.3).

Install the normal 2627 version. Unzip the contents of the attached file. For XP, put the Program Files in the corresponding folder for your language. Also put the "Documents and settings\All users\Program Data\..." in the corresponding folder (the part translated is Program Data for XP). For Vista search for the equivalent directories.

You get complete support in Translator and in Media Portal Plugin, also for the abstract model and a virtual remote to play.

Warning: if you start AverTV or AverMedia application, the control for the remote is stolen from IR Service and assigned to Aver applications. The control doesn't return to IR Service. I am working in a little wraper to launch this applications and regain control when the application finishes.

If you want only support for the remote in Mediaportal, without the IR Server, you can get it in:

https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mediaportal-plugins-47/avermedia-rm-hv-remote-plugin-59978/

Source code included. I would feel honored if you want to integrate with the main code.

Versiones anteriores de aver remote

Hola Pantav

I think it depends on the version. If the old Aver plugin works, my new plugin probably doesn't works, because the comunication protocol with the Aver software is different. You can update (if available) the drivers, AverMedia Center or AverTV software, before to try my plugin. If you only want Mediaportal support and not IR Server Suite support you can use the plugin from the thread linked, and not the one posted in this message.

Saludos / Bye.

AverMedia RM-HV plugin for IRSS

Hi,
I assume that pantav you are the author of the plugin. I created IRSS plugin support based on your work. It was very easy after all the work you did. I just wonder about the origin of the library REMOTESERVICELib.dll? Do you who is author of it?
After I will polish it a bit I would like to add it to IRSS SVN repository.

Hello mmatusza,

I tried to do exactly this (suport IRSS) with the files attached in the first post. But temporaly I can't test this configuration (I am using another Pc for a little).

The REMOTESERVICELib.dll is a dll created by Net 2.0 automatically, based in a type library Info.

This dll comunicates with a Active X interface of AverRemote service. It's only a wraper created by NET, pointing to the service executable.

If you want to develop futher the application and integrate it in the svn, of course, you can.

pantav,
Thanks for your clarification. Most of my experience is from Java so I have "some" idea what is Active X is. But as long as the lib is working I am happy.
If you you have maybe some references handy how to generate this kind of wrapper I would appreciate. If you do not have anything handy do not worry when the time come I will search the net.

Thanks!

Hi,
I tried to run this plugin on new version of IR Server Suite - Test Build 1.4.2.4290 (and also 3158 and 4068) but without the success :( IR Server Suite doesn't recognize the plugin. Could you modify the plugin for latest versions of IRSS? Or help me how could I to set up Aver remote controler?
